You will find many red plants out there – ones that have red flowers. However, you won’t find those on this list. The focus of this list is entirely on plants with semi-red and red foliage. All of the plants on this list can be grown indoors (some also outdoors).

1. Fittonia (Nerve Plant)
Fittonia comes in many varieties, with colors of leaves from green to pink. A couple of of varieties have red leaves / red veins, stores usually labeling them all as Red Fittonia.
This evergreen perennial plant is easy to care for.
Caladiums have very attractive leaves, and some varieties come in red color too (full or partially). The downside to this plant is that it is not evergreen – you have to plant the bulb each year in spring and then enjoy watching the plant grow and showing off its gorgeous leaves until fall. After that, store the bulb in dry soil and wait for next spring.

Coleus also goes by the name painted nettle, and the name does it justice – it really does resemble a nettle (minus the sting).
This plant is popular both indoors and outdoors, and it is available in a range of colors and color combinations. When it comes to red variations, you can find them in full red (with different shades) or bi or even tri-colored. On top of that, it also comes in various leaf shapes and sizes, a trailing variety and a tall variety.
A plant with wonderful glossy foliage available in many colors, one of those being a fabulous red. While it doesn’t come as a full red foliage plant, you can easily find a specimen with predominantly red leaves, with orange and dark brown mixed to it. A perfect plant that brings color to your home.
5. Begonia Rex
Begonia rex is another popular plant, and this one too comes in many excellent color varieties. From almost black and green leaves to the most adorable pink ones. You can also find a few plants with red leaves in this group – red foliage with a dark, almost black edge, pink, red hues, pink and green…
Some of the names to look for: Lava Red, Red Bull, Red Robin, Red Kiss…
This plant also goes by the name Chinese Evergreen, yet another plant that comes in many color variations – from full green to full red. Caring for the aglaonema plant is easy; it can even go weeks without watering, so it’s perfect for forgetful plant parents. Its beauty and ease of care make this one is one of the most popular house plants out there.
7. Red Hypoestes
The polka dot plants come in three main color varieties, white, pink, and red. Stores usually carry pink ones; however you shouldn’t have any issues locating the other too either.
Poinsettia is an interesting one on this plant with red leaves list… The red foliage on this plant is often mistaken for blooms, and the red-colored parts are indeed leaves, modified leaves called bracts.
This plant is considered a traditional Christmas plant as it “blooms” in the winter months. The plant is usually sold in stores at that time, with wonderful red leaves. However, after the “blooming” season is done, the red leaves will fall off. You can make them red again in the next season with proper care.
9. Peperomia Caperata
Peperomias come in all shapes and sizes, as well as in many colors. The colors are usually all kinds of shades of green. However, there are a few exceptions, like the Peperomia Caperata Emerald Ripple or Red Luna that boasts wonderful red-tinted leaves.
10. Red Maple Bonsai
A dwarf Japanese maple can make an excellent house plant. The leaves come in all shades of red and are wonderful to look at.
